Why don't Americans hear news from Africa, South America, and India?

This could be for many reasons. Personally, I would guess that, this is because it is 1, costly to pay and care for employees over seas 2, not many people want to live overseas away from family for work and 3, it just wouldn't make enough money for the industry.
