The sum of Jack and Jill's ages is 37. If Jill's age is 7 more than twice Jack's age(x), write an equation that could be used to find Jack's age.

Answer:

x: age of Jill

y: age of Jack

x + y = 37(1)

x - 7 = 2y(2)

=> (1) subtracts (2) => 3y = 30 => y = 10 (age of Jack)
