1.The ash around the decayed bodies to form a mold. In 1860, archaeologist Fiorelli uncovered these molds and filled them with plaster, turning them into the plaster statues that you can see today.

2. When Mt. Vesuvius erupted, a giant cloud shaped like an Italian Umbrella Pine Tree rose into the sky. Sheets of fire flew into the sky and volcanic rocks fell everywhere.
