Why do you think people reacted with fear and prejudice against individuals with AIDS in the 1980s?

They reacted with fear because
1) it was a new virus that no one knew about.
2) At first it was associated with only those in the LGBTQ+ community which cause fear and stereotypes that lead to social stigmas.
3) it was almost always fatal and even is to this day but modern medicine obviously helps much better than in the 1980s
