The Treaty of Versailles put many sanctions, fees, and full blame for World War 1 on Germany which led to much hatred from German citizens against it's own government for lying about the progress of the war, as well as hatred toward the Entente for pushing so much onto them. This hatred led to a rise of nationalism in Germany which helped Hitler to gain power and fueled militarism and sentiment to once again go to war.
