A forest fire damaged many trees in a forest. Squirrels and other plant-eating animals depend on these trees for food and shelter. Will the forest fire affect the carnivores of the ecosystem? Explain your answer.

Answer: Yes, the fire will effect the carnivores because they depend on plant eating organisms for food. If there’s not enough food for the plant eaters, they may die off of starvation or may move to other locations to find food. This process will decrease the food source for carnivores.

If the squirrels and plant eating animals have no food then they will die off decreasing the population, then there will be less animals for the carnivores to eat so they will slowly die off as well
