German citizens were in the middle of a very hard breakdown at the time Hitler came into play, and so when he started giving them a helping hand they fell for him as a leader and believed the things he said about Jews. He would tell the German citizens that the reason their nation was a mess and the reason they went to war and lost the war was because of the Jews. They had no choice but to believe Hitler's Nazi Ideas, they were desperate.
