Ok so this is an projectile motion equation...

Haven't done one of these in a while but I could definitely try!

To do this, we need to use this particular equation


t = (-b)/(2a)

We can substitute values into the equation to get the time it takes to reach the maximum height!


t = (-36)/(2(-16)) \\

This is the same as...


t = 1.13

We now know that it takes 1.13 seconds for the ball to reach its maximum height!

We can insert that into the original equation and simplify to get this answer:


= -16(1.13)^(2) +36(1.13)+7\\= -16(1.28) + 40.68 +7\\= -20.48 +47.68\\=27.20

Alright so it's not exactly 27.25 but you get the gist.
