7.28 m
Explanation:
Use the Pythagorean Theorem. The length of the ladder is the hypotenuse.
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
a = 2, b = 7, c = ?
Plug in the values into the equation.
2^2 + 7^2 = c^2
4 + 49 = c^2
Square root both sides to get c = 7.28
