Y+6=5(x−4) how do i make x an independent variable.

You would first distribute the 5 into (x-4), so your equation would then look like y+6=5x-20. Next, add the 20 to the other side so that you’re left with y+26=5x. Divide both sides by 5 to give you x alone as an independent variable, and have the equation look like y+26/5=x
