I have attached an example of an arithmetic sequence below.

This specific sequence involves decimals.

Notice that to get from one term to the next, we add

1.3 each time in order to reach the next term.

In order for a sequence to be arithmetic, the difference between the terms in the sequence must remain constant at all times.
