The answer is carbohydrate. A simple carbohydrate is a carbohydrate that the body uses as energy and is broken down by the body quickly. These include carbohydrates that come from sugars, whether they be naturally occurring like in fruit, or even in sugar that we find in candy. Complex carbohydrates are really good for you because they are found in vegetables and beans and whole grains. Fiber is a type of carbohydrate also. Fiber is basically the foods that our body does not digest such as specific types of fruits and vegetables. We need fiber because it’s what helps us feel like we’re full when we are eating. Carbohydrates basically give us the energy we need to function during the day.
