Where in an equation for photosynthesis does carbon dioxide belong

The equation for photosynthesis is 6Co2 (carbon dioxide) + 6 H2O (water) = C6H12O6 + 6O2. To be more specific carbon dioxide is located in the reactants part of the equation of photosynthesis.
