Some of the phrases they might have written would be "no tax for tea" and "stop limiting our liberties" or even "freedom!". This was because the colonists wanted unfair taxes to stop being imposed on them, and they wanted more freedom from their colony. They felt the British were being unfair and wanted to become independent from them.
