Looks like the labeled angle is bisected, in which case we can apply the angle bisector theorem. For this triangle, it says

\frac x3=(x+2)/(x+4)

Solve for
x:

x(x+4)=3(x+2)

x^2+4x=3x+6

x^2+x-6=0

(x+3)(x-2)=0

Then either
x=-3 or
x=2, but since
x is a length, it must be positive. So x = 2.
