Students from the University of Georgia are completing a field study to determine the impact the American alligator has on ecosystems over a 3-month period. I'm thinking, they're trying to find how the absence of the alligator will impact the ecosystem. it will cause the ecosystem to rapture because there are no consumers to control the ecosystem. I'm not sure though but this question is similar to when wolves of key stone park left how it impacted the ecosystem
