Answer: To escape expectations

Explanation: She explained many circumstances of women her age dropping out of high school due to pregnancy at early age, that the ratio of female to male at her high school was a significant difference. She however was determined to make it to the end of high school, and eventually it was clear that there wasn't much opportunity for her at her home town. She had the same job for 4 years and bought a car from that money to drive away from hometown so she would have a brighter future without being restricted by her towns' unspoken social expectations.

Answer: od

Explanation: Although Newt and Taylor seemed like identical kids when they were small, Taylor was the one to escape small-town life. She did so by avoiding pregnancy, getting a job working at the hospital, and saving up enough money to buy herself an old Volkswagon bug.
