What was the different about Vietnam’s draft compared to drafts of other wars?

While the draft had less men than the previous one, the people were not willing to fight for the cause.

The previous wars in the US had been fought with popular support and the draft had been including the people who were mostly willing to fight in the war effort.

This was not the case during this war effort by any stretch.

Most of the people that had to draft were not in the frame of mind to fight in a war that they did not believe in and thus saw it as a planned and state sanctioned death sentence.
