Step-by-step explanation:

The process of giving scientific name of plants and animals is called nomenclature. The great scientist Linnaeus named the animals and plants using two Latin words called as genus ( generic name) and the second is species ( specific name) which was called as binomial system of nomenclature. According to this system, the first name of an organism is generic name and second name is species name.

  • The first name is written in capital letter and species begins with small letter. Both the generic and specific name should be underlined when written by hand or typed and given in italicswhen priented.

Some examples are,

  • mustard = Brassica campestris,
  • human = Homo sapiens,
  • frog = Rana tigrina, etc.

Hope it helps..

Hi there! Hopefully this helps!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scientists use a two-name system called a Binomial Naming System. Scientists identify animals and plants using the method that defines the variety and species of the organism. The primary word is the genus, and the secondary is the species.
