to help here's a trick i learned. the moon will always get brighter/ darker on the right. the moon phases start by going brighter and then darker. so think i waxed my car so when the light is mostly on the right its a waxing crescent/gibbous. after it rains it started raning (waning but in a baby voice). waning is when the light is mostly on the left. so you wax your car and then it wanes. hopefully this helped
