In this excerpt from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, what change is seen in Scrooge's behavior?

Probably the beginning since Scrooge is a miser who doesn’t believe in helping the poor. So towards the end of it he becomes more of a generous person and donates a large sum to the needy.
