Farmland contributed to an advantage on one side of the war because it was an easy way to grow food for soldiers. Farmland could produce a lot of food, especially when you have a lot of land, and can be given to soldiers to prevent them from starving. Farmland was one of the ways that a group of people used in wars to produce food and not worry about not having enough food to feed soldiers.
