The number of calories in a banana is fifteen less than twice the number of calories in an apple of the same weight. Together they have a total of 141 calories. How many calories does each piece of fruit have?​

Explanation:

Let calories present in apple = x

Then as per the question, calories present in banana= 2x-15

Total calories = 141

x+2x-15=141

3x= 141+15

3x= 156

x= 52

Calories present in apple = 52 calories

Calories present in banana = 2(52)-15

= 104-15= 89
