2 {x}^(2) - 3x - 5 \\ 2 {x}^(2) - 5x + 2x - 5 \\ 2 {x}^(2) + 2x - 5x - 5 \\ 2x(x + 1) - 5(x + 1) \\ = (2x - 5)(x + 1)


2x - 5 = 0 \\ 2x = 0 + 5 \\ (2x)/(2) = (5)/(2) \\ x = (5)/(2)


x + 1 = 0 \\ x = - 1
