Answer:

rabbits are being eaten by wolves, hence their population is steady, decreasing to again increasing. But a mutant gene is found in one of the rabbits that reproduced earlier, hence the rabits that the rabbit gave birth to also have that gene, and they pass that gene on to their offspring ans so on. Later they all die. Their population si very small that may cant reproduce
