Answer:

y = -21

Explanation:

-6x + 2y = -18

-3x - 2y = 54

3x = -2y - 54

-2(2y - 54) + 2y = -18

6y = -126

y = -21

Answer:

y = -21

Explanation:

-6x+2y = -18

-3x-2y = 54

Multiply the second equation by -2

-2(-3x-2y) = 54*-2

6x +4y = -108

Add this to the first equation to eliminate x

6x +4y = -108

-6x+2y = -18

-----------------------

6y = -126

Divide by 6

6y/6 = -126/6

y = -21
