Concentrate and water are mixed to make juice. Which is the stronger

mixture: A or B? Mixture A has 3 parts concentrate to 5 parts water and
Mixture B has 4 parts concentrate to 7 parts water

Answer:

As a fraction, A is 3/8 concentrate in final product and B is 4/11.

A is, in other words, 33/88, and B is 36/88 concentrate in the final mixture.

So Mixture B is stronger, slightly.

Note that in order to make the fractions the same denominator, we had to 'expand' each fraction with the denominator of the other fraction. After that, the numbers are really easy to compare.
