Why and how do owls form pellets? What makes owls different from other raptors in this way? *

After owls eat small rodents and bugs their stomach can not digest things like fur, bones, teeth and feathers. So once all the nutrition is extracted from the food the owl regurgitates the “extra indigestible material” in the form of pellets.
