326 people were in a tour group. Six buses were completely filled and 8 people chose to walk. How many people did the bus hold?

The Total Capacity per bus is 53 people.

Explanation:

To work this out you would first minus 8 from the total to find out how many actually went on the bus, and so we do not count the people walking. Then as you know there are six busses you would divide that new total by 6 to find the capacity per bus.

1) Minus 8 from 326.


326-8=318

2) Divide that by 6.


318/6=53

3) Total capacity.

The Total Capacity per bus is 53 people.

This shows that the total capacity per each bus is 53 people.
