If so, there is a good chance that because you agreed to the social media company’s terms of service, the company can use your photo for promotional reasons. Do you think it is okay that social media companies make users agree to let them use users’ photos? Why or why not?

I think it would be fine if they notified you but only if they used me for a good reason.

On the other hand...

no matter if it's on the agreement if it is inappropriate on your part it is illegal and you can complain.
