you inherit your genome, obviously, from your parents, the ones who caused your existence. you get half from your mom and half from your dad. the gametes, or sperm cell, is formed during a process called meiosis, which is a special type of cell division in sexually reproducing organisms used to produce the gametes, such as, like i said, a sperm or egg cell. like your genome, each gamete is different, which explains why kids from the same parents don't look exactly the same.
