a mitosis inhibitor is a medication that is desighned to prevent mitosis in certain cells why would these be helpful in the treatment of tumors?

Tumors occur when cells uncontrollably divide/go through mitosis. If a mitosis inhibitor is given, then the cells won't be able to divide, hence stopping the tumor from spreading.
