Explain why red-green color blindness occurs more frequently in males than females?

Most women have two x-chromosomes (XX), and most men have an x-chromosome and a y-chromosome (XY). That's why colorblindness is much more common in men than in women.

The genes for the red and green color receptors are located on the X chromosome, of which males have only one and females have two.
