During the last years of the American Revolution, the Continental Army started to change their strategies. They looked to win small battles instead of large ones, which lead to the creation of guerrilla warfare. The Patriots also gained foreign help from countries like France. The British strategies also weakened because they had little knowledge of the American frontier and underestimated the Continental Army. The final siege of Yorktown with the help of France surrounded the British. Since the British navy didn't come to their rescue they were forced to surrender, which marked the end of the American revolution.
