Which One Doesn't Belong ?

4x - 7 = 12 ~space~ |x-4| = 55

x² -ₙ 74 = 7 ~space~ 2ˣ = 64

explain why the equation in one corner does not belong . Then explain why the equation in every other corner does belong.

Answer:

{2}^(x) = 64

Explanation:

I am assuming that your equations are:

a) \: 4x - 7 = 12 \\ b) \: |x - 4| = 55 \\ c) \: {x}^(2) - 74 = 7 \\d) \: {2}^(x) = 64

If these are actually your equations, then the one that doesn't belong or the odd one out is

{2}^(x) = 64

The reason is that, all the other equations are algebraic.

The odd one is the only exponential equation.

Exponential functions are not algebraic, they are transcendental.
