x = -(1)/(5), -3

Explanation:

A) You can factor the expression
5x^2 + 16x + 3 into
(5x+1)(x+3).

5x + 1 = 0 and x + 3 = 0


x = -(1)/(5), -3

B) I would use factoring because you can factor this expression, and you don't have to use completing the square
