There are four stages of metamorphosis i. e. egg, larval, pupal and adult.

Explanation:

Metamorphosis is a process in which change occurs in the shape of the insects from egg to adult stage. There are two types of metamorphosis i. e. complete metamorphosis and incomplete metamorphosis. The organism is totally different in shape during different stages of complete metamorphosis. Butterfly is the example of complete metamorphosis.
