What benefit could plastic made by plants have over traditional plastic?

1) Since plants are a renewable resource and oil is not, we will eventually run out of the materials needed to make traditional plastic, but we will not run out of what we need to make plant-based plastic.

2) Farming has a much lower carbon footprint than oil extraction and processing does.

3) Plant-based plastic can be biodegradable.
