The area of a circle is pi r squared SO the radius is half the diameter in this case the diameter is 16, half of 16 is 8. Plug into your calculator pi(8) squared. Since your teacher wants you to leave pi as 3.14 do 3.14(8) squared. Don’t forget units!

Answer:

A = 64π ≅ 200.96

Explanation:

area of a circle can be found with the equation

A = πr²

they give us that the diameter is 16, so we know the radius r is 8

then we just plug into the equation

A = π(8)² = 64π

if you want to plug in 3.14 for π, you'll get approximately

64π = 200.96
