The dutch east company sold goods to people all over eastern Asia which ended up making them a lot of money. They influenced the clothes sometimes with the textiles that they sold and the clothes that were made out of the finest silk. These things changed the desire for items which spread quickly. The fine silk and textiles could have changed there desire and value for items completely.
