Answer:

[TeX]\frac{1}{4}[/TeX]

Explanation:

Fraction of Distance travelled on Saturday = [TeX]\frac{5}{8}[/TeX]

That means,

The remaining part of the journey= [TeX]1-\frac{5}{8}=\frac{3}{8}[/TeX]

On Sunday, [TeX]\frac{2}{3}[/TeX] of the remaining distance was travelled.

Recall, our remaining fraction of the journey= [TeX]\frac{3}{8}[/TeX]

Therefore:

[TeX]\frac{2}{3}[/TeX] of the remaining distance

= [TeX]\frac{2}{3} X \frac{3}{8} = \frac{2}{8} =\frac{1}{4}[/TeX]

Therefore , [TeX]\frac{1}{4}[/TeX] of the total distance was travelled on Sunday.
