As a sociologist and data analyst, I know that this anachronistic concept of race must be monitored to measure social progress in the United States or its absence. And yet, to keep an eye on the race, we go on and wonder when and if these ideas will ever disappear. And maybe they will never go away because people tend to monitor the difference. In other words, race can be an "administrative" construction that has no place in everyday life.
