Rearrange -x+y = 3 to y = x+3
Then substitute into the first equation.
4x - 2(x+3)= -22
4x - 2x - 6 = -22
2x -6 = -22
2x = -16
x = -8
Then I put this into y = x+3
y = -8 + 3
y = -5
