Changes in genes, mutations, are mostly neutral to an organism and result in no benefit or harm. A piece of the code could be repeated and result in no advantageous or harmful result. A positive mutation could be the result of letters switching. A positive mutation could be camouflage. A negative mutation could be the result of some code being cut. A negative mutation could be a blindness trait.
