Can someone help me come up with different words to use for the words in parenthesis?

"Another form of anti-Semitism came from Henry Ford who believed that the Jews had a plan to control the world by the control of machinery of commerce and exchange, instead of by military aggression, by governmental (subjugation) or territorial (acquisition)."

Words I would like to change to different words: Subjugation and Acquisition.
Reason why I would like to change them is because I don't see myself ever saying those words and I'm pretty sure my teacher doesn't either.
