Fetal growth restriction is a condition in which the baby which is not born have smaller size than the babies of the same gestation period. In this condition, the baby weighs less than 9 out of 10 babies of the same age of gestation.

Fetal growth restriction (FGR) can affect the overall growth of the baby and also the size of cells, tissue, and organs but in most cases, the baby is just small with no problems. Placenta or umbilical cord problems that restrict blood flow in the fetus can result in Fetal growth restriction (FGR).
