The mean and median of 100 observations are 50 and 52 respectively. The value of the largest observation is 100. It was later found that it is 110. Find the true mean and median.

Mean = 50.1

Median = 52

Explanation:

since 110 is greater than 100 then 52 would still be the center of the data set because the order of the element of the data set from least to greatest would still the same

then Median = 52


Mean=(O_1+O_2+. . . +O_9_9+ O_1_0_0)/(100) =50\\\\then\\\\((O_1+O_2+. . . +O_9_9)+ 100)/(100) =50\\\\then\\\\O_1+O_2+. . . +O_9_9=50*100-100=4900\\\\then\\\\


((O_1+O_2+. . . +O_9_9)+ 110)/(100)=(4900+110)/(100) =(5010)/(100) =50.10
