Explanation:

In the beginning, the distance between the snail and the turtle is 200 feet. Then the turtle moving at T feet per minute so the distance will become 200-T feet after 1 minute. But the snail also moving at S feet per second, so the distance will be reduced into 200- (T+S) after 1 minute.

The 200 feet distance will keep decreased slowly by both the turtle and the snail speed(T+S). They will meet when they both travel 200 feet The equation for distance is :

distance= speed * time

We are asked when they will meet(time). If you change the equation to solve for time, it will be:

200 feet = (T+S) * time

time= 200 feet/ (T+S)
