\sqrt[n]{a^(m)}

Therefore :


16^{(3)/(4)} can be written as :


\sqrt[4]{16}) ^(3)

The fourth root of 16 = 2 that is 2x2x2x2 = 16

so the expression
\sqrt[4]{16}) ^(3) becomes


2^(3)

which will be 8

Therefore :


16^{(3)/(4)} = 8
