Soldering guns often use a soft solder alloy composed of 35.5% lead. If you are soldering parts onto a wagon and are only allowed to have a maximum of 2.51 g of lead in the finished product, how much solder can you use to attach all of the parts?

Answer: 7.07g of solder

Explanation: This can be represented by the equation 2.51 = 0.355x with x being the grams of solder. To solve this we divide by 0.355. 2.51/0.355 = 7.07 (three sig figs).
